Absolutely gorgeous. I love all the singing first thing in the morning.

Is it wrong that I just want to eat your kitties right up? TOO cute!

Hi, Yolanda, Monkey, and Gotta Garden! Thanks for your encouraging comments. I love the Dawn Chorus too, as I'm an early bird, and that's the best alarm clock ever! The frogspawn came to fruition, Yolanda, as you can see from the previous video. I will try to do little videos to show their progress. We have two cats of our own called Jaffa and Monster. You can see paintings of them on my other blog. The little cinnamon-coloured one is Cookie, and the mottled one is Taz. They are two out of three cats (Titch being the third) which have chosen to live in our barn, though their owner lives nearby (but has seven dogs, hens, ferrets, budgies, gerbils, two other cats and goldfish...a menagerie, in fact!...which is probably why the three cats have chosen to live in the barn).I feed and look after these adorable cats (with their owner's approval) and tend to them when they are sick or wounded. I realise I do not own them...but they have chosen to live with me, so I'm the lucky one!

Dear wildlife gardener,

It is so lovely to wake up early in the morning and listen to the beautiful bird music around. I loved the bird song you have captured here. In fact you have been able to electronically capture every element of an early morning experience!

Thank you, Dear Thalia, you and I both love the birdsong. It makes my heart sing. The birds enhance the garden with their song which raises everything to a higher dimension.

I'm sitting in my garden listening to this on my laptop and the birds who were singing on our roof are looking quite perplexed!

A wildlife gardener said...

Ha Ha! Usually they respond by replying to their own kinds of song, eg. the blackbird on hearing another male will sing even louder to claim his territory! Thanks, Ruth.

That's lovely, love the cats sitting peacefully in the garden. I adore bird song, and soon there will be many more birds singing come spring.

Thank you for introducing yourself, Salix...beautiful name that...means willow. You are quite correct in what you say, because our birdsong is getting stronger with more birds joining in daily.

You did it! You got your birdsong on - yeah! That was so neat. I love spring when the birds start singing again. I wake every morning with a bird chorus outside my bedroom window. The bedroom is on the second floor, and nearby treetops are alive with birds. Wonderful.
P.S. - Welcome back!

Great!
We put out a mix of oats, sultanas, apple and fat for the starlings at about 6am, and they sit all along the roof waiting, chortling away, then swarm down and gobble it up. Then the blackbirds start- we have 5 regulars. It was 7 but the local sparrowhawk took two :@{
then the robins (2) and lately we've had goldfinches too. (till we bought them special nigre food, then they disappeared....)

Your cats don't seem bothered at all by the birdsong!

Thanks, Sally! Glad I managed to get the birdsong on. It's definitely the best way to start the day.

Hello, b.t.bear esq! Only one of the cats is a bit naughty with the birds, but mostly they are well behaved! My husband places the bird-feeders outwith the reach of the cats, and the resident blackbird gives us plenty of warning if they go near his chicks.

How fun! Thanks for sharing. I just hate to leave home when I hear the birds singing so in the morning. Your birdsong woke up my cat and brought her over here to the computer to see what this was all about!

I love to listen birds singing. Every single day at morning when I wake up I heard a lot of birds trying to compose a melody out of my window, and I have to say it's fascinating.
